Ms. Thompson was born on May 14, 1958, and transitioned from this life on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the tender age of 63.

Mrs. Yolanda Denise Nelson-Thompson was born on May 14, 1958 to the late Albertha Nelson in Charleston, SC where she was later raised by Rachel & Frederick Hopkins in Homestead, FL.
Yolanda grew up in Homestead, FL where she attended A. Lewis Elementary, Homestead High School where she graduated and later attended the University of FL for Nursing. She was baptized at an early age. She enjoyed making jewelry, watching movies, taking pictures and enjoying family and friends. She later married Earl K Thompson SR.
On Wednesday June 24, 2021 the Lord called Yolanda home also known to family and friends as Big Ma/Niece . She was welcomed by her late daughter Dietra Thompson(Dee-Dee) , her siblings Regina & Lashonda McKinnes and Larry Nelson. She leaves behind 3 sons Frederick Nelson, Nicholas Thompson & Earl Thompson Jr. Her siblings Maurice Nelson of St Petersburg, Kim Brown(Durell) of St Petersburg, Francheska Hargrove also of St Petersburg.
Big Ma leaves behind a whole lot of love, memories & smiles in which we all will cherish. A host of Grandchildren & Great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Also extended family and friends who also loved her.
We the family appreciate all the kind words, prayers and support during this tough time. Please continue to keep us all lifted up in prayer as we continue to grieve.
