A Life Reflections of Terra Darrnell Winthrop

Terra was Born on October 18, 1973 in New Port Richey, Florida. Terra was a lifelong resident of Port Richey and settled down in Holiday Florida, with Her Wife Katina Winthrop and their 4 children, Raquan A. Winthrop, Jeremiah T. Winthrop, Jameison J. Winthrop, and Taylor N. Cox. 

Terra Graduated from Ridge Wood High School in, 1991. After High School Terra went onto Pasco Hernando Community College where she obtained her Associates Degree in 1993. After much thought Terra decided to leave Florida and Head to Atlanta Georgia where she completed her bachelor's Degree from Oglethorpe University in 1995. After 9 years in Georgia Terra felt it was time to come home to Port Richey. She came home and ventured on a new career. 

Terra Joined the Pasco County Sheriff's Department in 2000. Terra held many positions while at the Sheriff’s office, however her favorite was the 14 years she spent as a School Resource Officer. This position allowed Terra to do what she loves and that is taking many of the communities' youth under her wing, serving, protecting, and guiding them in their endeavors. Seeing her student’s success inspired Terra to go back to school and obtain her Master's degree in Strategic Leadership, which she completed in 2009. Often upon the student's graduation, the student would still utilize their “corps” resources. Terra never said No! And although her students meant the world to her, nothing mattered more than “Her Boys”.

Terra took great pride and joy in her boys. They became her life and she made it her mission to see that they all succeeded in their own special way. Each boy knew their Auntie would pick up on the first ring and whatever they needed she would be the one to handle it. Again, the answer was never NO! Just like her love for her student’s and her boys, Terra’s love for her community never went unnoticed. 

Terra, along with her wife Katina were foster parents and adoptive parents and were members of the Foster Adoptive Association. Terra volunteered with many youth programs. Coached Highschool Softball and at the West Pasco Fast Pitch Softball League. She held fill the “Corps Car” fundraisers for school supplies and food donations for needy families. She created a Step Team for Wesley Chapel High School, along with many other activities. Terra was also vested in her Church’s youth ministries, at Worship Life Church.  After Leaving the Sheriff’s Office in 2017, Terra ventured on her last career. She opened Winthrop Bail Bonds in 2018 where she could continue her love of helping those who made poor choices but needed that hand to lift them back up. That’s exactly what she did until the time of her death. 

Terra was preceded in death by her Mother Barbara Jean Winthrop.  

She leaves to cherish her memories: Father: Herman L. Winthrop, Wife: Katina A. Winthrop Children: Raquan A. Winthrop, Taylor N. Cox, Jeremiah T. Winthrop, and Jameison J. Winthrop. Her Boys: Terry Winthrop, Marquell Strong, Robert Strong, and Rayshawn Strong.  Brothers: Herman, Erick, Herman “Twan” Jr., Tony, Shannon, Terry Sr., Keith, Hermon, and Antonio. Sisters: Phyllis, Dena, Alanda, Antionette, Sheryl, and Kayla. A Host of Nieces and Nephews. Many Loving and devoted Family and Friends.
