Deacon Robert Lee Thomas, Sr. was born October 6, 1938 in Dunnellon, Florida to the late Arthur Thomas and Emma Lee Williams. He and his wife of 58 years relocated to Largo, Florida in 1962 where he became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Largo, Florida where he later served as a deacon. In 2011 he later joined St. John Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as an Emeritus Deacon and on the parking ministry. He worked for Pinellas County Parks Department for over 30 years where he retired.
On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, the Lord in his infinite wisdom saw fit to reward Deacon Thomas eternal rest.
Deacon Thomas love for his family was unconditional and will be remembered by his family, his loving and devoted wife; Georgia, five children; Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., (Michelle), Valerie Washington (Stephen), Jeffery Thomas (Toya), Keith Thomas (Cheryl), Teria Thomas, god-daughter, Lennise Germany (Omar), 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, daughter in laws; Renee Case, Sharon Gavin (Calvin), 9 brother in laws; Ivan Mobley (Sherikey), Randall Mobley (Renee), Clinton Mobley (Rose), Cooper Mobley, Clarence Mobley, Willie Mobley, Ricky Feacher, Greg Long, Elijah Long, 5 sister in laws; Louvenia Long, Kathie Miller (Anton), Mae Hawkins (Wilbrun), Jessie Outing (Johnny), Rose Tucker (Tyrone), a special niece and friend Annie Mae Larkin, close friends, John Mitchell (Martha) and Deacon David Baldwin, and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
