JoAnn Haynes was born in Utica, New York on January 15th, 1939. She was married to Richard Haynes and had four children. In between children they moved here to Largo, FL and later divorced.
She was a hard-working woman. Retiring from Maderia Beach Fundamental School after 20 years of service and yet still continuing to work at Twedt’s Bowling Center until it’s closure in 2013. After that she decided to stay home and spend time with her family.
JoAnn was the heart of our family. Her house hosted every birthday party, sleepover, and holiday. She showed loved to anyone who graced her doorstep and ensured everyone’s wellbeing. Most who knew our family either called her Mom or G as she always made everyone feel as if they were a part of our family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Haynes; and her son, Shawn Haynes. She is survived by her son, Frank Haynes; daughters, Tracy Bolton and Dawn Drain. As well, as seven granddaughters and eight great grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.
“Thank you for the gift of love.
Now you're sharing it up above.
You had many things to say,
All in a caring way.
You always saw good in everyone,
No matter what they've done.
You were always the one we could all lean on,
Even though it must have felt like a ton.
You were always the strength of the family.
Now we must let you rest calmly.
We say goodbye,
As tears roll down our eyes.
I know your place in heaven has a good view.
You're telling God
I need to keep an eye on a few.
I know you will always be in our hearts and minds.
So Grandma, I must go
but I'll never forget you're one of a kind.”
