James Mobley, Jr.

        James Mobley, Jr., left this life to return to the open arms of his Creator on Saturday, August 1, 2020. James was born on December 12, 1937 in Palatka, Florida to the late James Mobley, Sr, and Maggie Brewton Pelham.

He attended school in Olustee, Florida, where he was shortly drafted in the United States Navy at the age of 17.  Shortly after James enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served 20 years as Chief Boatwain’s Mate, did three tours in Vietnam War.  After his retirement with Acoustic engineering company James resided in Clearwater, Florida.  James relocated to Gainesville, Florida in 1985, where he worked with the Alachua county school system as a bus driver for seven years and later retired.  James enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was Florida Gators fan.

On August 21, 1982 James married the love of his life the former Gwendolyn McFayden, where this union produced a beautiful daughter.  James was loved by many, and always had a caring and giving heart.  James proceeded in his passing his parents James Mobley, Sr., and Maggie Brewton Pelhem (Royal), sister, Janet Pelham Dallas, brother Wade Pelham all awaits James homecoming.

 

Percious memories will linger in the hearts of his devoted wife, Gwendolyn Mobley, children, Alvin Mobley (Christa) of Olustee, FL; Renee Mobley, Brenda Mobley, James Mobley all of Virgina and Schenique Mobley of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Rosa Pelham of Jacksonville, FL; Delores Pelham Collins of Clearwater, FL, Truly Cordner (Robert) of Pinellas Park, FL; mother in law; Ida Mae McFayden, brother in laws; Earl McFayden (Brenda) and Melvin McFayden all of Daytona Beach, Florida; Bruce McFayden (Tynice) of Jacksonville, FL; and Oran Dallas of Williston, FL; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relative and friends.
