              Obituary

Grady Evans Jr. was born on August 24, 1939 to the union of the late Carrie Bell and Grady Evans Sr., in the historic city and state of Louisville, Georgia.

Grady attended and received a formal education from the Jefferson County Public School System. After graduation, he was enlisted in the United States Army. Grady accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. In the latter years of his life, Grady was employed by Youngblood Bus Charter Company as a Charter Bus Operator. In his leisure, Grady enjoyed re-upholstering car seating and developed a passion for the guitar. Grady was the lead singer, lead guitar player and manager of Grady & the Apostles Gospel Singers and acquired the name, “Bro. Grady.” Grady was a longtime radio host of the Original Gospel Explosion Radio Ministry, broadcasted on WTAN 1340 AM and 106.1 FM, every Sunday morning. Grady was the senior scouter for Sharp Records located in Atlanta, Georgia. Grady was a dedicated member and participant in the Tampa Bay Legends Choir.  Grady met the love of his life and longtime companion, Lillian in the city of Largo, Florida. The two were wedded in marital bliss on August 18, 1990.

Grady Evans Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in New Port Richey, Florida. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, brother, Frank Evans, sister, Betty Burton, aunt, Estella Evans and spiritual godmother’s, Mother Catherine Gordon and Mother Ester Hillman.

He leaves to cherish his memory,

His wife of 31 years: Lillian Evans

Sons: Grady Evans III, Kerry Wesby, Frankie Evans, Alphonso (Kristy) Evans, Maurice Evans, Freddie Harvey Jr., Brian Harvey, Gregory Harvey, Craig Harvey, and Alvin Cunningham.

Daughters: Gwyn Evans, Deirde Evans, Robin (Darrell) Singleton, Kathy Willis, Francine Meyer-Evans, Sonja Evans, Sheila (Jeff) McKinney, Pamela Harvey, and Cheryl (Reggie) Cooper.

(64) Grandchildren and (36) Great Grandchildren

Brothers: Clarence (Belinda) Evans, Wesley Burton, David Burton, Ernest Burton, and Ronnie Burton.

Sisters: Dollie Burton, Pauline Burton, and Helen Burton

Brothers In Law: Edwin (Pam) Marshall and Ralph Harris

Sisters In Law: Betty Marshall, Cynthia Marshall, Linda (Calvin) Dyer, Lorria (Virgil) Eady, Rayshall Poinsette, Earnestine Berry, Trudy Ellis, Marshall Lee Marshall, Lunette Marshall and Helen Evans.

Godmother: Mary Robinson-Hawkins

Godsister: Cora “Cookie” Butler

And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives.
