Mrs. Evelyn D. Evans of Clearwater, FL - She was born on August 18, 1919 and transitioned from this life on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from the hours of 5-7PM with Celebration of life held on 1 PM Saturday, December 11, 2021 all held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Dunedin, FL.
Reflection of Life
Mother Evelyn Dennis Evans was born August 18, 1919 in Snead Florida, to the late Walter and Ola Forestine Carter Dennis. She was the older of 2 children, her brother Lester Fuller Meriwether preceded her in death. She was converted at a young age and untied herself with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she was affiliated with the following Churches in Florida: Christian Life Apostolic Holiness Church Dunedin, AOH Church of God Clearwater, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Reddick, Florida. She served many positions in the Church; Deaconess, Sunder School Teacher, Training Leader, Vocation Bible School Leader, Mission Worker, Choir Member Director, Pianist and Director.
She received her education at Washington School and Social Center (Chase Memorial School in Dunedin, Fl.) and the Pinellas County Adult Education Program, Clearwater, Fl.
She was employed by Mease Hospital of Dunedin Florida. As a Patient Care Technician. Among her many patients she served was Dr. Mease.
She met and married Isaac Evans III, March 8th 1937. He preceded her in death after 52 years. To this union was born 4 sons, Walter Charles, Clarence Lee, Lonnie James and Quentin Denis.
She has a great love for others. She reached out often to serve others in the Community. She served on many community organizations and programs such as; Upper Pinellas Co. Human Relations Dunedin, Educations and Enrichment Programs. She served as a Solicitor for the March of Dimes, The Heart Fund and the Cancer Foundation.
She leaves to Cherish Found Memories; Her Family legacy, Sons Walter Charles (Rose Marie), Clarence Lee-deceased (Virginia), Lonnie James-deceased (Castella), Quentin Dennis; Step daughter, Bernice Thomas and Debra Bowers, Lona Shelter, a devoted niece Annette Robinson, 9 Grand Children
18 Great Grandchildren, Many Great Great Grandchildren, a host of other family relatives and friends.
