On Saturday, March 5, 2022, our heavenly father called Danny Junior (Crow) McCrea into his enteral resting place.

Danny was born December 29, 1959, in Clearwater, Florida to the late Gus and Corine McCrea. Danny attended local schools in Pinellas County. While attending Largo High he played various sports. Danny excelled in football and earned multiple championships. We all can reminisced about the night that caught the media’s attention… Largo High played Dixie Holland High; Danny’s rushing yards were impeccable getting him the title as the player of the year. Danny was an amazing football player, with his remarkable skill as a wide receiver, Danny was branded with the nick name “Crow”. Upon graduation he worked for Aerosonic Corporation, his mentor was the late Mr. Merv Nabors.  He later met his wife, Rae and moved to Lakeland, Florida.

Danny favorite saying was “I am just a plain and simple guy! He loved the outdoors… working on cars was one of his many passion, therefore, he became an entrepreneur as a mechanic. Problems with your car…Danny was there to repair that car.  His daily loved for natural created another passion as a fishermen of men. His thought was… give a man a fish he will eat for the day…teach a man to fish he can eat for a life time.  He often would say… “Seize the day, seize the day”… believe it or not, every one of us in this room, one day will stop breathing." “Take time to tell your family and love ones that you love them because you never know when God will call you home.”

Besides his parents who preceded him in death, he was also preceded in death by his baby sister, Jenny McCrea.  Danny leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Rae, his inconsolable children; Darrell Lake Jr. (Atlanta, GA), John Lake (Lakeland, FL), Ny-quanya Oliver McCrea (Lakeland, FL), and Alana William (Sylvester) (Charleston, SC), a deeply sorrowing sister; Stella McCrea-Hagan (Lake Mary, FL); six despairing grandchildren: Shyah Lake, Johnique Lake, John Lake Jr.,  Syriana Hodges, Mya Hodges, and Tyla Hodges; several heartbroken aunts: Bernice Mann (Valdosta, GA); Luella Tillman (Valdosta, GA); Sarah Outing (William)(Kingstree, SC); Doris Barr (Kingstree, SC); Mary McFarlin (Kingstree, SC); Alberta McCrea (Kingstree, SC); Thomasina Tisdale (Rochester, NY); Delores McCrea (St. Louis, MO); and Barbara McCrea (Columbia, SC); a comfortless uncle, George Tillman (Tifton, GA); an grief stricken nephew, Alexis Cordell (Corey) Moore; an sadden great nephew, Corey James (CJ) Moore, and god-sister, Tracy Butler,  three heavy-hearted special friends, Michael Whiting, Ben McClendon and Kevin Harris; and a host of devastated loving relatives and friends.
