Reflection of Life
Antonio L. Crawford Sr. 60, of Clearwater, FL entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Shelley Crawford in which they shared over 30 years of marriage and an amazing friendship thereafter.
He was born on September 10, 1960 to the proud parents of Joseph and Eddie Jean Crawford in Quincy, Florida. He and his brother Michael Gilliam would eventually move to Newark, New Jersey where he would become a proud graduate of Malcom X Shabazz High School. He would eventually move to Richmond, VA where he was employed as a skilled machine operator foreman by Weyerhaeuser Recycling Company for many years.
He was affectionately known by all of his friends and family as “Ab” and known as Pop-Pop to his grandchildren. In his early days he played and enjoyed league softball, basketball, boxing and he & his friends started their own football team the Bilalian Raiders where they were the champs throughout Newark, NJ. Ab was also an amazing dancer, the life of the party and never left home without his white victory towel used to wipe the sweat after he defeated you on the dance floor. He was a comedian in his own right, his sense of humor was crazy so much so he eventually became known as the king of memes on Face Book to his many followers.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his amazing children: LaTesha Crawford, Eboney Scott(Roy Scott), Antonio Crawford Jr.(Ieshia Barnes)., LaShaun Crawford, Sherrod Crawford Sr.(Taylor Davis) and Al-Tureek Caldwell. 14 grandchildren: Dayvon, Maziyah, Antonio III, Michael Jr., Sherrod Jr., Royce, Alaysia, Aniya, Ameyah, A’Drianna, Drayden, Malik, Malachi & Alayah. His bonus children: Keisha Johnson, Aleta Braxton, Andre Walton, Lonnie Tunstall, and Michael Greene: 4 brothers: Michael Gilliam, Jerry Head Jr., Curtis Head, and Salaam Muhammad: 2nd parents Howard Head and Queen Anderson Jones: 2 sisters Vera Head and Cathy Evans. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, sister & brother in-laws, cousins, other relatives and long-time friends: Wadoo Harris, Jerry Alexander, Eric Anderson and many many more. Antonio is survived by his father Joseph Crawford(Debbie) of Quincy, FL and was predeceased by his loving mother Eddie Jean Head, Uncle(dad) Jerry Head and Aunt(mom) Barbara-Jean Head his best friends Marshall Williams, Edward(Raheem) Gray and Eric Hightower.
Antonio ‘Ab’ will be remembered for his amazing dance moves, love of sports, crazy sense of humor, his baseball caps and his overwhelming love for his family and friends. He opened his heart and his home to many neighborhood children and friends that needed a place to stay, a meal or just conversation and guidance. He had a very special bond with his nephews Eric(EJ)and Trevon, who would always go out of their way to make sure he was ok.
