Annie Ervin Obituary

Our Queen Annie Mae Ervin

Life Reflections

Annie Mae Ervin was the ninth of nine children born to the late Charles and Minnie Veal on October 10, 1931 in Columbus, Mississippi. She was raised by parents who knew the enduring power of God to sustain their family and she, along with her brothers and sisters, attended Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age. Not often, but during the times she would reflect on her early years, she used to refer to it as “hard-time Mississippi, “as even the entire country was reeling under the Depression.  In 1935, when she was three, the family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri.

Mother Annie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late George Ervin, Sr, in 1980, who preceded her in death.  To this union one child was born.  The early hardship she endured created in her a work ethic that only intensified over the years.  She had many gifts and talents along with the know-how to get things accomplished and managing her own properties as a realtor.

Mother Annie was an individual who loved people and freely gave her time, a hot meal, and advice.  Annie had a way with words only she can express.  Quote “You know where you been, but you don’t know where your going to end up in life.”  She received many recognition and accomplishments in life from various organizations.

Mother Annie Mae Ervin left this life to return to the open arms of her Creator on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 surrounded by her family. She preceded in her transitioning, her parents, husband, and son Charles Beal, sisters, and brothers await Annie Mae homecoming.
