Velma Jane Harris- Whiting was born May 21, 1946 to the late Henry Harris, Sr. and Eular Street-Harris in Clearwater, Florida

Velma meet and married the love of life David Whiting and to this union three sons

A Time To Learn, Work And Have Faith….

Velma attended the Pinellas County Schools, graduating from Pinellas High School class of 1965. She joined St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Reverend Lewis Carr and later years Rev. Benny Dyer, Pastor where she continued to be faithful and dedicated member. She was employed at Honeywell as a Supervisor until her retirement of 30 years. Velma, a loving and devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing with others. She loved being with her family and friends, she loved to travel. Her travels took her to Germany, Italy, and France...

She was predeceased by her parents: Henry and Eular Harris; 5 Sisters: Maytha Harris, Maggie Harris, Dorothy Moss, Clara Riley and Barbara Price; 4 Brothers: Henry Harris, Jr., Raymond Harris, Kelly Harris and Melvin Harris.

A Time To Be Remembered….

Velma Jane Harris-Whiting memories will forever be treasured by her children; Timothy Bernard Whiting (Karkita), St.Petersburg, FL; Darron Keith Whiting (Shirley) and Shannon Breon Whiting both of Largo, FL.

Grandchildren: Anthony Eckwood, Jasmine Whiting, Christian Whiting, Jada Whiting, Kiara Whiting; Kyla Whiting, Jaedyn whiting, Derrek Jackson and Kalyn Whiting; Great Grands: Quincy Eckwood, Anthony Eckwood III, Elijah Eckwood, Vincent Eckwood; Christian Whiting, Jr., Ocean Wright and Fendi Roberson. 1 Sister: Suzanne Howard, Largo, FL and 1 Brother: Charles Harris, Miami, FL. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
