Rodney E. Oliver Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Clearwater, FL, on March 27, 2025. Born on December 16, 1949, in New Haven, CT, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Oliver Sr. and Carrie (Mayes) Oliver.

Rodney was a beacon of love, wisdom, and faith, touching countless lives through his generosity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to God. His journey was one of purpose, service, and deep compassion for others.

Rodney's passion for ministry was evident in every aspect of his life. A dedicated Sunday school teacher, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of the young people he mentored. His commitment to spiritual growth extended to his active roles in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) at both local and national levels.

Beyond the church, Rodney was a pillar in his community. His participation in fellowship support meetings in Clearwater allowed him to share his wisdom and life experiences, forming lasting bonds with those around him. He saw these gatherings not just as discussions but as an extension of his ministry and an opportunity to uplift and inspire others.

Rodney had an insatiable love for all things tech, proudly calling himself a "gizmo, electronic, and computer geek" and often joking that he was from the "planet Techno." His creative spirit shined through his passion for photography, with many of his cherished images proudly displayed in his home.

An avid fisherman, Rodney found great joy in retiring near the water, living out his dream in Clearwater, FL, where he embraced the peace and beauty of coastal life.

Rodney is survived by his loving children, Rhonda Oliver and Rodney Oliver Jr., his devoted daughter-in-love Getsenia Oliver, and his cherished grandchildren, Jocelyn Oliver, Aryanna Jackson, and Joel DeJesus. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jaylah Ferriere and Vincent DeJesus. He leaves behind his brother Joseph Oliver Sr. (Ruth Oliver), sister Carolyn Mayfield, nieces Kimberly Oliver, Kisha Burgin, Jasmine Mayfield, Lauren Mayfield, and a host of relatives and dear friends.

Rodney's guiding light was his favorite scripture, Philippians 4:8: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

A celebration of Rodney's life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at TR Dallas Funeral & Cremation Services, 1479 S. MLK Ave, Clearwater, FL 33756.

Rodney was a light in this world, and though he will be deeply missed, his love and impact will never fade. His legacy of faith, love, and inspiration will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
