Born Maxie Bell Jones on October 8, 1944 to the late Willie James Grant and Maxine Jones Jackson in
Sylvester, Georgia she was the eldest of 16 children. Maxie preceded her passing her fathers the late Willie James Grant and&George
Jackson two sisters, Gwendla Jackson and Donna Faye Bailey.
Maxie accepted Christ at an early age, where she was a member of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church
of Clearwater, Florida. She loved to cook and feed many people she encountered. Maxie worked as an
housekeeper for many years. She was marriedto Gene Berry of Lake City, Florida.
On Saturday, February 23, 2019 Maxie Bell Jones Berry peacefully passed surrounded by her family and
friends.
Maxie memories will be cherished by her two sons, John Jones (Shinel), and Jimmie Johns, her mother
Maxine Jackson, two nieces she raised as her daughters, Nikitha Herring and Erica Herring, a very special
granddaughter Crystal Jones, six sisters; Pam Jackson, Wanda Bonney (Andrie), Tammy Hadley
(Haywood), Tracy Jackson, and Kathy Jackson, Ida Mae Grant Webb, nine brothers; Clarence (Annie),
George Jackson Jr, Billy Jackson, Donald Ray Jackson (Betty), and Marvin Jackson (Joyce Lynn), J. D.
Grant, Raymond Grant, John T. Grant, 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a loving special
cousin Geneva Williams, Mary Jones, Sam Bo and a host of other relativesand friends
