Reflections of Life

Willie Scott, Sr left this life to return to the open arms of his Creator on October 8, 2019 at Suncoast Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida.

 

Willie was born on May 1, 1932 in Dawson, GA to the late Deacon Bennie Scott and Lula Dyer Scott.  His biological mother passed shortly after giving birth and was raised by his stepmother Rosa Scott.

The family relocated to Largo, FL, where Willie remained until his passing.  At the age of 23 Willie begin working for Orange Blossom Groves as a fruit picker, after 56 years with the company Willie. He later met and married the love of his life the form Mary Lee Harris on January 25, 1959 to this union they were blessed with seven beautiful children.

Willie was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Largo, FL where he accepted Christ as his Savior.   Known to his family and friends as a family man, Willie loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who was very precious to him.  He had a great sense of humor, and always made others laugh.  He had a heart of gold and would light up the room when he entered.   When you woke up in the morning and find a bag of fruit on your front porch, it was a sign that Mr. Willie had paid you a visit.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife the late Mary Lee Harris-Scott, parents, Deacon Bennie Scott and Lula Dyer Scott and stepmother Rosa Scott, a son Bobby Scott, and granddaughters; LaShawn and Shania and a host of other relatives awaits his homecoming.

His life, memories, smile, and willingness to help others will always be remembered and cherished by his children; McKinley Harris (Tracey), Willie Scott, Jr. (Felicia), Fonda Love, Sharon Scott, Jerry Scott (Barbara), Bennie Scott (Vanessa), Mary Ann Scott-Johnson (Tommie), four sisters in law; Racheal, Rose Mary both of Largo, FL; Inez Betty, Helen of Atlanta, GA; one brother in law; Cheste (Betty) of St. Petersburg, FL; 20 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. A devoted niece Hattie Bell, God daughter; Mattie and special cousins; Mamie of Largo, FL; Annie Mary, Francis and Pee Wee of Atlanta, GA and J.C. Hill of Largo, FL and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
